Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm not a big drinker, so I wouldn't want to get nauseated in-flight. *shudder*
I may have to drink a couple of tequila shots before I get on the plane, so the buzz kicks in right from the get-go without any of the belly-full-and-sloshing feeling.

I'm sure I'll be fine. Just be sure someone has a crowbar to wrench my hands off of the armrest and oh-sh*t handle in the car. :-)

I really want to learn Tae Kwan Leap some time too (boot the head!).ROFL! Yeah, one day I hope to learn the gravity-defying part myself :) Here's a kick I'm working on learning right now, more or less for the heck of it as I'd never use it in a real fight (though Jim Kelly uses it nicely in Black Belt Jones):

Well, I work from 8a-5p. One of the guys who works from 11:45p-8:45a is a case-modder freakazoid, and has very little to do other than surf around looking for this stuff.

I meant Jor-ElOhhhhh, OK!
To: Fedora
WOW! Amazing! How'd you get the red "X" to kick like that!?

I see a lot of potential for torn knee ligaments in that kick.

I have a feeling this is a really, really dumb question...but what is [a] case mod?

OK, I went straight to the properties source and saw the kick. That is pretty cool, to say the least. It's like flying!
If I tried to do something like that, I'd end up in the hospital!

Yeah, Jor-El, LOL! Actually I think it's only a computer Jor-El programmed, though. He's only appeared in flashbacks himself, but he sent a computer to Earth along with Kal-El when Krypton exploded, and apparently (from what we've been told so far) he actually planned for the computer to teach Kal-El to conquer the Earth once he grew up--a plan which Clark and his parents have been resisting, but Jor-El has been making Clark an offer he can't refuse by threatening Ma and Pa Kent and Lana if he doesn't obey. . .

Concealing the technique in the form of a red X is the highest level of achievement :)
Yes, it's kind of like flying momentarily. I've seen ice skaters use a similar technique.

That sounds sort of like the current comic continuity, IIRC.
