Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, I've been noticing in the movie previews that they seem have to grown up quite a bit since the last movie!
To: Alkhin; Darksheare
Darksheare mentioned a few posts back he has a cloaking device, so he randomly pops in and then disappears again--kind of like Gandalf :)

I've never actually read any of the books, just seen the movies. And actually, the new movie will be the first we've actually seen in the theater! We watched the earlier two when they came out on cable.

OOh...is THAT what that strange smell was?Yep--and that "Bamf!" sound. . .

AH...I am looking forward to seeing what the new director has done with the material. I was never really comfortable with the way Columbus handled the movie. He had really odd inconsistent moments and some over-acting on the part of the characters that I thought he should have spent more time smoothing out.
am still ga-ga over Master and Commander though...havent had so much fun becoming a fanatic since I picked The Hobbit up!

That'd be
Nightcrawler, who you might recognize as the blue guy from
X-Men 2 if you've seen that :) He has the same power as Darksheare to suddenly appear out of nowhere and then disappear, and when he does it there's this puff of smoke and sound "Bamf!" followed by the smell of brimstone. Nightcrawler and Darksheare have never been seen in the same place at the same time--hmmm. . .

Rose has caught the "Master and Commander" fever as well... we had to go to two bookstores last night to get volumes 7, 8, and 9.
To: Fedora
Yeeee! things that make you go "hmMMMMMMMM!"
havent seen X-men, although I keep thinking I should, considering its got Hugh Jackman (well, didja think it was because of the comic book?!)...but havent yet. Am rather curious about Van Helsing, although I have heard the reviews are not that great.
I do like those Aussies, though...

Rose is reading #7, "Surgeon's Mate". I haven't read any of them yet, although I have seen the movie.
To: Alkhin
Outta curiosity, who are your fav characters? Maturin, Aubrey, Killick...?
<>
You would not believe the number of young girls who are all swoony over Maturin, especially when it comes to slashing Aubrey with Maturin (homosexual relationships). I dont get it frankly

X-Men 2 has both Hugh Jackman and Darksheare, so now you have two reasons to see it! :) I want to see Van Helsing, too. Was considering seeing Troy first but now that I hear they cut the gods out of it, I'll probably see VH first.
