The Hobbit Hole IX - A sudden tree or standing stone

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I got a hundred dollars smokin in my billfold
I know I oughta save it but it's burnin' a hole
Right through my pocket and into my skin
Come Monday morning I'll be broke again

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

I got a little sugar baby down the road
She's sittin' on a radio and rockin' on roll
We'll dance up a storm and later all night
We'll be workin' on doin' all the wrong things right

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

Monday I'll be hurtin with my head in a vice
Tuesday I'll be wonderin' if I'll ever survive
Wednesday and Thursday I'll be slowly tunin' in
Friday I'll be revin' up my motor again

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

It's finally Friday
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

Good morning!

We had a bad storm here last night, trees broken all over the place.

Remember when our tree split that big branch off last year? The whole tree died. It was a pretty round bradford pear.

We're supposed to get major storms this afternoon through tomorrow night...lots of thunderstorms with possibly some hail. Hmm...

I kinda like thunderstorms...but hopefully we miss out on the hail!

BTW, tried flax pancakes for breakfast. I killed the first cake dead...it completely disintigrated when I flipped it. But the rest turned out OK. I like 'em...remind me a little of the buckwheat pancakes Mom used to make. I might try mixing in some whole wheat flour next time, since I can have that now. Not a lot...just enough to change the texture a bit.

They're ok, but I highly recommend the almond flour pancakes.

Oh my, they are delicious and one of those things I've learned from this way of life that I would have loved to have known about before! I'll never go back to wheat flour pancakes!

Wonder if you could try buckwheat flour instead of wheat flour in the flaxseed pancake...

Wonder if there is a carb diff...

Gotta look that up...

Did you ever post the almond flour pancakes?

For me...I don't have to count carbs, so I could do the wheat flour thing. But I do like buckwheat.

I had strawberries with sour cream last night - put about half a packet of Splenda into a couple big spoonfuls of sour cream and dipped the strawberries. May not sound good, but whoaaaa was it ever!

Yes, I posted it right under that bread recipe...can you find it?

You're best bet with flour, if you were counting the carbs would be whole wheat but buckwheat is pretty close!

The net carbs per quarter cup for each are:

Buckwheat 18.18g
All-Purpose flour 23.05g
Whole Wheat 18.07g

I've lost 6lbs as of this morning...I'm at a number now that I haven't seen in many years, since before Joshua was born!

It's going very slow for me, but it's going! Before Joshua was born, I wore a size 4. I don't want to get back that thin, but I want back into a size 6 comfortably. I'm going more by size than anything.

My size 8 jeans (the only jeans I have) are getting baggy! I used to have to lay down to zip them up! We hates them, we does.

Good Mornin'. I'd grump at the local weather, but at least it won't involve shoveling...

At least it wasn't Beaches... :)

I had an almond bread recipe, and I copied that and the one after...so I must have it. OK! I'll have to try it one of these days. I'm going to go to the natural foods place this weekend...maybe I'll pick up some things there.
