Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's really weird.
I'm always happy when he's not around. Jeanne really dislikes him. A shame, because my wife truly loves her sister.
This is the guy we refer to as Michelle.

I'd enjoy that as a spectator... but it would be of little use I'm afraid. The only women he'll listen to for any reason are either his secretary or a woman of "negotiable virtue". He doesn't work "with" wimmin.
I cannot stay unbanned and still express the true hidous nature of this clump of useless flesh. Frankly, I've had enough of talking about the balrog. I've wasted too much good time on him already. I don't wanna waste any more life energy on him.

This is the guy we refer to as Michelle.Oh dear!
Sad that he's like that with Jeanne feeling that way about sis. How long have they been married? From what you say I guess sis is okay with all this.

I have been watching it. It *seems* to be pretty close to the book. Keep in mind, though, that I read the book more than 20 years ago.

Did you see that little intro segment just now? It looks to me like Disney is trying to fix the damage Eisner did to its family-oriented PR image. Did you get that impression?

Okay, no more discussion of him. But, with your comments about him not working "with" wimmin. It would certainly be entertaining to have a few words with him. Merely entertainment yes, but at his expense.

This one might be secretly gay...he flits, skips and chirps around the house and talks about wearing women's clothes Uh... uhmmm... call me quick to judge, but "flitting", "skipping" and "chirping" around the house aren't mere clues...

Just starting to read it. It's a bit confusing because of the realism mixed with what is obviously fantasy...but interesting.

Mom should be on her way over here right now. Still don't know if she is gonna stay the night or take elf-boy back to her house.
'twould be such a waste of gas in this day of horrid gas prices if she did, cuz she will just have to drive back over here tomorrow.

Mmmmmm....blueberries. I've GOT to get me some of those soon! Unfortunately right now they're very pricey. But MAN I love those things!
In the summer there are HUGE fresh blueberries at the Farmer's Market. A helping of those with sweetened cream is one of the most wonderful things on earth. *drool*

LOL! Probably is self-serving, but even if it is I hope it's indicative of a change at Disney. I actually turned this on not realizing it was a Disney production; probably wouldn't have watched it if I'd known it was, so I'm pleasantly surprised so far that they did something non-crappy for once in a long time.
