I was lunging him in the round pen without a rope and the saddle slipped. I had to just back off and let him run himself down. I joke but I never want this to happen to him again. He was really scared and frothing. I was concerned he was going to go into cardiac arrest. I didn't know he could run so fast.

Oh, yeah that's doesn't sound like fun. That's why I like to use a longe line so you can stop them quick when something happens. Keeps it more controlled.
