Wow.... just from your vivid description I can picture that!
And my stallion was real good too... I gave lessons to a pretty little kid on him... I thought mine must be the only one in the whole world that good ;~D
He was a lover though.... he was known to 'hang out' at shows a little too much. ;~D If he was too distracted, I would put Vicks in his nose.
Well no pictures . I didn't get to ride tonight. Hopefully tomorrow.
I got an e-mail from that ranch in Austin today though. They are trying to set Eddie and I up for a basic horsemanship and trail riding clinic. They wanted to know if I wanted to go to a roping clinic . Seriously lol. Guess they just spam it to everyone.
I'm not sure how good that young stud would have stayed. They landed up gelding him. But chocawsquaw has a stud that is alot like Rocky. Her daughter rode him when she was younger and CS rides him now at times.
Good studs are out there. I think these guys were all born with a good temprament, but they have also been held to good behavior, and not used a whole lot for breeding. I think studs have gotten the reputation they have because of the way people handle them now a days. Most people have them strictly for breeding, they're not handled and rode.
Rocky was born with a good despostion. He'd been rode here and there by my son but he's too small to do much roping on. When Jenny started riding him she was 13, and I told her you can't ever forget he's a stud. Don't even let him talk to other horses when you ride him. She was always very strict with him. We hauled him around in the trailer with my mare all the time. That's why those stupid no stud rules irritate me. I've seen alot of geldings and mares be a whole lot worse then Rocky has ever been. It's not the horse that's the problem, it's the people riding them.
