The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread
Posted on 04/26/2004 12:06:41 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads
. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts
look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in
. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics
land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news
. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I have to get really busy this month. Eddie gave a definite "yes" about a trail ride clinic before I start riding with the "already know this stuff" guys. Of course there are strings. I have to have another trailer. He said he would get me one but for him to go with me
Okie has to load easy and I have to be able to mount by myself with no hesitation. Soooo, .......

Ok, Mack finally let me have the computer so I can post pictures of what my trails are like.

Just a look down an average trail.

Close up of the terrian over the trails, lots of rocks.

A place I like where after a good rain there is a run off and alot of little waterfalls that make a real "babbling" brook:)

Same place other direction, this is looking up the run off, the other is looking down.

A few more:)

This is the place we cross the creek. We call it the deep water crossing, because it's the deepest place we cross at. We cross it 2 other places but they are not as deep. This day the water came to right over the tops of my boots.

It's hard to tell but whenever Rusty gets in water he paws to splash himself. I think it was his way for making up not sweating. The people who I got him from had a pond. At first I was afraid he was going to lay down, but he never has, just splashes.

This is looking down at the creek at a differnt crossing and the hill going up on the other side. Cindy you and I rode down the other side and up the side this picture was taken from. I don't have a picture of the hill we came back down but will get one tomorrow.

This is a picture from the trail of the back of my property.

I meant about the water crossing that the water came over the tops of my boots while I was on the horse.

How in the world do you stay up so late, and get up so early. I have to have 8-9 hours of sleep, or I die about 3:00.
I went to bed about 10:20 which is 20 minutes later then usual for me:)

Don't know. I've been up since 5:30. I never have required a lot of sleep. It does catch up with me every so often and I sleep in or go to bed early though. Need to ask you a question about Okie. Going to FM.

Got to go. Catch you later on my break

Finally????
I thought I had been doing "basic" html, I don't consider hosting and posting basic. But remember, I'm "basically" computer illiterate:)
