Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Yea, I would love a ranch, I am hoping mabe God will let me have one when I finish school. It does not look like I will marry a rancher anytime soon LOL, so I gotta make enough money for my own place.
Land doesn't seem to be that high around your area. My BIL recently just bought a 50 plus acre tract. Beautiful. Lots of trees. He paid 1500 an acre. Around here just a flat piece of irrigated land at least 5500 an acre:'(
I love to look at the Texas ranch magazine here. It shows all the ranches and farms for sale and its just awsome. I could dream for hours.
Right now I would be happy to start out with 10 acres where I could have my horses in my back yard and a place to work on my business:')
If i remember right the magazine here has prices, but i dont remember. I would just love to have 10 or 15 acres and have horses, cats, cows, goats, whatever to take care of. Mostly horses though. Teach little kids how to ride.
Well..... Make it happen, girl:'). I don't recommend the horse and then the barn though. The money I pay stabling would probably almost cover my payments.
LOL no, the barn would have to come first. As soon as I can get out of school and make money I am going to get one of those ranches.
well, better sleep now, gotta go to work tonight. Mabe check out the thread before I leave. See ya! God Bless and thanks for talking to me :O)
Night :')
Prayers for your little nephew Lemondrop... Hope he grows out of this healthy in time!
Just got home from work here... trying to decide if I have the energy for stick-cleanup this afternoon. I had more energy till I ate a big lunch!
No riding for me today. It's grandkid day:). Just got home. It's a little warm out to be starting out. Probably ride tomorrow morning.

Good Evening!
Prayers for your Nephew, hope he get's his weight gain and does not need surgery. : )
"Almost done", only a few more passes with the mower.
Looks like you have got most of it :')
Thanks! I finished up a few minutes after making this pic.
Feel like it too. : )
Good evening! Ya got nice looking fields!
I love to mow. My tractor a lot smaller than yours though.:')
Ug! We just went to the island to eat fish. I feel so stuffed :')
Thank you. Glad to get the mowing part done. : )
"I love to mow. My tractor a lot smaller than yours though.:')"
If you get your new place you may need a larger tractor too.
