Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Heard from mower man?
Becky
Politicians are the only ones that love it. : )
It is time for the "I Do's."
He just got here! woo hoo!
I have heard it said a couple times that it takes about 250 hours of riding before a horse is considered "Safe?" Whether this true or not I do not know but it does make sense. Just my opinion though.
But it is dark now....... : )
Pony Club is the best way for the kids to go first. When they've worked through that, then if they want to go on to "serious" showing, they can.
I am perfectly happy showing at unrated and "C" shows with my 19 year old mare. She has a good time, I have a good time, we go home with some ribbons to hang over her stall, everybody's happy. What's to worry? We ain't never going to the Garden anyhow. :-D
Say, do you think Hair has hired my lawn mower guy? : )
It was storming again just like last time he was here.
To me it's like a partnership and once the horse safe they should be working together.
Let us know if yall find crop circles at daylight:')
It was raining in sheets. You could hardly see the road. Lots of thunder and lightening. Strange weather this year. I was transfered here about 13 years ago. I was thinking beaches and Miami scenes and the whole Don Johnson thing. I moved to a desert. So disappointing. This year has been a lot more tropical. We have been under a drought a long time though so maybe this is how it's supposed to be.
One time I did find crop circles at daylight in my yard the next morning.
Seems that one of the headlights on his riding mower went out and he kept turning toward the side of the one headlight that worked.........
I know, (groan). : )
We went out to the barn this afternoon and it was POURING. So I groomed Gracie, then we all watched dressage videos.
I'll go out Friday and work her a little and bath her. Hunter Pace on Saturday!
The effects from it, cloudy and gusting winds, were here all day today. Sent it on your way. : )
My son, trying to be helpful mowed the yard last week. The tires were flat though and instead of airing them up he just drove the mower anyway. Circles everywhere:')
