Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |
Posted on 04/26/2004 12:06:41 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Working as work in the lab, or studying?
Working in the lab as well as studying. I have my courses to worry about, and another paper and/or presentation to crank out for the American Physical Society. I'm exhuasted just thinking about it. Don't know if I'm going to have as much time to put in the lab this semester. I oversee other projects as well as work on my own, so maybe I'll just do some "consulting work" if you will. It's just a school professor research lab thing. Nothing major. It's the small steps that lead to big ones.
Thanks and Good Luck! : )
Well rest when you can. You are carrying an awfully heavy load.
You are Welcome.
Saw you on the New Kitten thread, we will talk cats later. : )
Good Morning!
Ugh...2 mornings in a row at 5:30. You all have a good day,
Becky
Have a good ride today.... talk to you tonight!
What does the riding team do?
Becky
First chance I have had to sit down long enough to catch up with the convention. Mack just replayed Millers speech. That was great. Did you see his interview after the speech with Chris Matthews. That was better then the speech! Put Matthews in his place:)
Becky
The ride was good. I love this place, because all the trails are working trails, good place to get your horse a good work out.
Trash did great. Tami called to see how he did, and I told her if he doesn't make it as a barrel horse, he could sure be a competitive trail horse.
I've got some pictures, but I'm beat and Mack is on his computer anyway. Maybe tomorrow while JP is napping I'll load them up.
Becky
Yeah - saw them both.....
Good stuff!
Evening everyone! Beaker.... If you can join the riding team, I say do it!... does this mean you'll be buyin one soon? :~D
I forgot to mention I did have a flat tire on my truck coming home:(. I was glad some men were around. I can change a tire, but I don't mind letting the men do it:)
Becky
Sure.... glad you had a good ride.... Tonight we've got the speech....for just this once.... we can wait for tomorrow for pictures! :~D
These 5:00 mornings are killing me. I think all the time I've spent driving the last few days has been harder then 6 hours on a horse.
Becky
Will the school provide your horse?
