Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I wasn't, I was runnin' late this morning! Around now though, gettin' settled into home again :~D
Well I ordered the cake today. She's getting a 140 dollar one. If she doesn't like it, to bad. I have to call her though because they wanted to know the flavor. I thought they were all white cake, but it seems the fad is choc, or strawberry now. I'm so out of the loop:') I haven't mentioned to my son yet that I have two horses to go with it:')
$140 is enough to spend on a cake. People go nuts on the silliest things at weddings!

Yeah, you should remember. I went to Pittsburg to see the cousin that lives in Washington and came home to visit. I hadn't seen him in 10 years.
It takes about 2 hours to get there.
It was kind of sad. His mother is my dad's sister. My dad went with me up there. And he has another sister there too, that is a widow. All three, my dad's two sisters and the ones' husband are all around 90. I knew they weren't doing good, but even my dad was surprised how much they have failed in the last two weeks since he saw them last. One sister and the brother in law, have both stopped eating, I'd say from the looks of things I'm going to be going up there again in the next few weeks for funereals. I was glad to see my cousin but it was sad, because his dad will probably be the first. He was in really bad shape and they were talking about gitting the doctors to put in a feeding tube. My uncle dosen't want them too. I hope they just let him go and don't prolong this. He's so lucky, he's got cancer pretty bad but his not hurting. If they start feeding him like that, I would be afraid the end could be alot worse.
I just wasn't expecting things to be so bad.
