Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Yeah - unintentional on his part for sure. I did have a mare that tried to step on me sometimes, I just know it... ;~\ But this was an accident.
You're at the outside time frame for ice doing a lot of good. It may have already swelled the amount it is going to go.... But it might feel better, and a pressure bandage would both keep it from getting bigger, and help press the swelling back down sooner.
If she's on dialup and is loading ~many~ at the same time, maybe. Does it appear to be making progress or is it stalled?
If it seems to be making progress, she just might have a really slow connection, and/or they are really high res (big) pictures. If she decides to quit and try again, maybe load a few at a time so she doesn't lose the whole show again if it locks up.
If the pictures are physically large, she may want to reduce the file size by resizing them, if she has the ability to do that.
I don't know the size of the pictures, but she is loading 15. She must have a slow connection.

Trash hasn't made it back yet. Tami called and said he would be here by 10:30. I went out to feed, only two horses, Rocky and Rusty. Big change from 4 to 2 in one day:)

Are ya kinda sad? have an 'empty nest' kind of sentiment about Harley?
Yeah, it was kind of hard leaving him:( I know he will be going to a good home, but he's getting moved around alot. He's 5, came from Texas, I was his 3 owner since being in OK, he will live at the stable for 3-4 months then finally go to his (I hope) permanent home.

Well, it doesn't feel like I accomplished much today other then fretting about what to do about Harley. Now I'm tired so I'm outta here for the night.
CS, if you post your pictures I'll check them out in the morning. I'm going to snooze in my chair till Tami gets here, then to bed. I can't hardly keep my eyes open:)

She got closer than I would have. I'd have been huggin the tree:') Those are really good shots. I really like the lake views.
she kept hiding her eyes alot on the trail and trying not to look down alot. but we made it and had a great time this weekend
