Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I try not to let anyone scream at me, but they do anyway. I just keep my trap shut and plug along. I think that it infuriates people even more if they get no response, and that makes it extremely satisfying for me. I'm evil, I know. Even though it's a temp job, it has a lot of responsibility to it, with lots and lots to do. Thanfully it's my last week. Then I start working in the lab again, where I'm actually respected. :-)

Looks like the kids were up to somethin' I'm sorry. :-( I once let my mum use my laptop. Don't ask me how, but she got into the BIOS of the computer and made it so that it wouldn't boot again. When I asked her what she did she said: "I don't know, I just kept pushing buttons!" :-p

I bought a book once called "how to deal with difficult people". I just laid it on my desk . Most quit coming to my office throwing fits. It had no effect on my Director though. He thought he walked on water I think. Anyway when he would come to my office all upset I would just excuse myself to go to the bathroom. When I came out he would have calmed down. Probably thought I had a bladder the size of a pea.

Thanks for the lines:) They came out pretty much like Charlie said they would. Maybe because he stripes parking lots he can see stuff like that without it being there:). I'm not good at visualizing.

My pictures were of before and after the new post. When I get to the real computer today I'll repost.

The girl that wants her barrel horse rode called last night. She wants to provide his food and hay. Her hay will be delivered this evening. She said at my price she will probably leave him here forever:) I'm pretty excited about this, especially if Stan stands Reba or one of his others back to me. That will cover the cost of my horses, and alot more when I sell Harley.

Her horse is a big sorrel 8 yr. old gelding, that she says probably all together has had 1 years riding. He has been trail rode a little, and did not seem spooky, has never offered to buck. He does have some TB in him so runs good, but she just wants him walked:).

Today I've got to finish up my fencing, do some book work with Mack, try to give Harley a bath as I'm taking him tonight to a barrel race. He is just going to stand tied to the trailer, but I'm going to watch Kristy run. I won't forget the camera, as she really wants you all to see her horse Rowdy. She saw my pictures Sun. of mine playing and wanted to post some of hers:)

I probably won't get a chance to ride, but Heather is coming tomorrow, but of course there is rain in the forecast, but only for the morning. The temps are suppose to be real nice, so I should be able to ride in the afternoon anyway even if it rains in the morning (if the weathermen are correct:).

I'm going to get my coffee finished here then go start on the fence, I can't get it hot, but can't find where it's shorting out.

Anyone know how to reset a computer screen. I think I found my rat. Someone (my son) sneaked in here after I went to sleep and opened all kinds of junk). I pushed the + to 100% but the screen still foggy. I am really mad about this. I'm fixing to check his butt.

When dealing with difficult people I just smile and nod.
My boss isn't talking to me today because Monday is my last day and she's ticked off. It's given me a lot of peace and quiet! :-)

Could he have done something to the capacitor and poured something in the computer? That may not be it, but my aunt's cat once decided to get sick in the monitor and it shorted it. Nothing smells funny, does it?

Anything is possible around my house lately I guess:') My husband will be back in town tonight if he get's to Houston before the last plane out. He'll look at it. No one using the computer today though. I removed the modum and router. If I'm not on this evening it will be caz I couldn't get it hooked back up :')

You riding today? I think I have decided not to take lessons with this new trainer. I was told she is for the horse only and won't work with me. Nothing wrong with the horse. I'm the one that needs training :')

Well this evening may be interesting, up till now it's been work:)

I've got my fence going and all up, got water troughs rearranged, cleaned out and filled, everyone and everything set. I'm now in better shape to have horses of others.

Going to set here for awhile, drink some coffe and try to get a second wind to go tonight.

Anyone around doing anything worth talking about????

Hmm.. I woke up this morning and um.. I went to work... in fact I'm still here and um...I made cheese cake the other day. Mint chocolate chip. Oh, I'm going to upstate new york in a couple of weeks.
