Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Boy, he looks like he is flying:).
Poor pony:)

I like the unity candle thing. We didn't do that because it wasn't practical to try candles on the beach in the wind ;~D Maybe we could have done sand ;~D
But, we needed ours to be short and quick. We didn't have chairs on the beach for the guests, they were standing. Kept it to just a brief blessing, vows, and done in about 6 minutes.
LOL. My oldest getting married in Sept at Big Bend on a cliff. Nothing else will do for them. My job is to find a preacher. It ain't happening:'). I'm wondering if it's legal to set up a camera and do it online. She went over to Japan last week and I was hoping they would go ahead and get hitched but it's still the park. He even wants me to bring Okie. I think not this trip. I want to check it out and even if I could get a trailer it will be a fast trip and too hard for him for a days ride I think. It's over 100 here. No telling how hot it will be there.
I'd never seen the sand thing before. It was a good analogy, nice symbolism, but I like the candle thing better, and I also think one or the other would have been enough.

I was bad during the wedding. When they went to lite thier candle, I whispered the story to my kids of a cousin of mine who did that at her wedding and as she turned away her veil brush the candle and caught fire. That material a veil is made of burns fast, luckily the groom smacked her in the head, (LOL) fast enough and put it out. I had the kids laughing and Mack had to tell us to behave:)

Bay so photogenic. You need a scroll on the picture though like "Hey pony, remember a couple of weeks ago when you kicked me....:')
Ya got shushed huh ;~D
LOL. Yeah.
There was a lot of behind the scene stories at this wedding. The other boy that works for us dated this girl too. He was at the wedding too. It's been an interesting summer with these two:) The bride is only like 18-19. The groom is 21. He is leaving in Sept. for boot camp. The one boy doesn't think the groom ought to be leaving his bride alone so quick......she gets restless easy:(

It seems when we're having a good night chatting I always need to go to bed. But church tomorrow and I'm already 45 minutes past my bedtime. I might try to get some better pictures of Rocky and Rusty from the side. That's kind of an intresting way to look at them. See you all in the morning.

What happened to you guys last nite? I thought I'd get up and have some posts to read:(.
Really nice morning here. May be cool enough this after noon that I will take Rusty out for a short ride between church services. I'm going to start him out with not more then 45 minutes for a week or so. Seems a waste of time to saddle for only that long, but I don't want to over stress his system when it is just getting back to normal. I'm not sure how much it would take to shut it down again. This cool weather could be a God send to get him started in.

WIMPY
http://grulloquarterhorses.homestead.com/WIMPY.html
I've been trying to post the picture on this link but I can't figure out how. But Wimpy was the first registered QH in the Association and has (according to the association) perfect confirmation for a QH. But I can't find the standards anywhere either. I'm not good at searches. I can't find his height, weight, etc. Another site:

And they named him "Wimpy"? :')
I have seen that picture before. Maybe on my son's Ag book, but I know I've seen it.
You killed the thread by going to bed!
Good morning!
I was sooo tired. I laid down just for awhile lol. Funny, I dreamed about horses all night though and woke up sore:')
His backside too high?
In the painting or my line? His backside looks good!
Ok, I see now. I thought the bottom lines were supposed to be level.
