I'm feeling OK, no riding today though.
Well, I think I'm going to pass riding today. My house is such a mess:). I am such a morning person. Lately I've been getting all the outside stuff (the fun stuff) done before it gets to hot. By the time I come in I'm so zapped from the heat that there is no way to spark up the ambition to do housework, yuk. So today, even tho I'm feeling great and full of energy right now I really need to get the house cleaned. ~sigh~.
Hair, hope you are feeling better. I must have missed that you had no water, didn't realize it till last night. That is real pain.
Well, I'm going to start now....if I get everything done I could still ride tonight in the arena.
I'm going to start now....
Start now.....
now....

n.......:)
How's the house cleaning..... started yet?
I don't think we can ride Bay now unless we rode bareback ;~D... he still has that pesky cinch sore.
NO, I went outside:(
Becky
Now......
~shakes head~
;~D
Oh yeah, I forgot. Morning. I was limited to Gypsy yesterday, myself :')
I had a good excuse....I took a sack of trash out, then came around to the front of the house and noticed some flowers that need to be pulled. I'm back in now.
Becky
Are you sill recovering well though? Gypsy is a school horse?
Neverminds.... I remember who gypsy is ~slaps forehead~
I can't start workin' on stuff till ecurbh gets up. Too disruptive. But I have a ~lot~ of laundry to do.
LOL. No, It means I didn't ride.
I'm recovering but not gracefully :') I'm tired of it and getting cranky because I can't do what I want to yet.:')
I am sure that is a good sign!
Actually, I understand being tired of it. I hope you get back into the swing of things soon.
I do most of the house work stuff at night. I kick into gear about 10 and usually up til 1 or 2. I just turn on the fan. My husband can sleep thru most anything at night. However when he works nights he can't. Every little noise wakes him up. I have to stay out of the kitchen. It's next to our bedroom and even opening the frig or a cabinet wakes him. Funny, huh?
I have alot of everything. Dusting, vacuming, bathrooms, kitchen cabinets needed wiping down,,,,aaaahhhhh. I hate housework:)
But back on topic. What you think? When I'm home I let Rusty out in the front yard to graze. Lots of shady areas. If I leave I put him in his run where there is no shade except in his stall where he doesn't go. Sometimes even during the day when he can be in the front yard, I look out to check on him and he is standing in his run out in the blazing hot sun. Would you lock him in the stall? Is he cooler in the shade of his stall where he might not get as much breeze, (the front is all open), or out in the run in the sun where there is some breeze? Will he fret in the stall since he is not use to being so confined? I've locked him in once in awhile but not for long periods of time.
Becky
It was the saddle. A boarder told me last night that my saddle slipped. I cinch it so tight too.
Bay stands in the sun when he has shade available too. They have access to the whole "back-forty" now where it is all treed and cooler, but he stands in a dusty corner for his day-nap.
Is it part of the prescription for his recovery that he not be hot? I'm not clear on what is most important.
If you think it is tight already, I would be reluctant to go "too-tight". Do you tighten it a couple times, once when you saddle him up, and then once when you've walked him around a little? They do usually need a second pull. The other option that can ~help~ hold it in place ( a little) is a breast collar. I ride with mine moderately looser, when I have a breastcollar on.
