Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

My problem is that the girl that cuts mine works at a diffrent store and she's kinda hard to catch, or if she is there I don't feel like driving down there to see her.

I've got really curly hair and since it's gotten so long I've gotten picky about who cuts it. I've turned into one of those people that drives me crazy.:)

I didn't get to read the threads about the Preakness this weekend, and didn't find out till today that the same horse won it as won the KD. What do you think the chances are of him getting the triple crown?

Chances are pretty good, he looked strong! I hope he makes it, the owners are a neat old couple, and I am pulling for them!

I understand. That's why I go where I go. She knows what I like. It's really hard for me to explain to stylists what I want.

I know what you mean, but we really don't need that detailed of an explantion. If you like the style you have just tell them how much you want taken off. Letting them know how long it's been since you've had it cut helps too.

No, I'll be getting back on schedule tomorrow though. I didn't get back til around 2 I guess and rested and then went to church. My husband (I work for him) has graciously (haha) allowed me to change my schedule again so I'm going in at 6 and getting off at 2:30. Gives me more time with him (Okie, not Eddie:').
