Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Are you still loading them to York or to FR
Becky
Your party sounded very very nice. I'll bet thsoe ladies really appreciated it. Yeah Know I think the kids now a days are going to miss out since they don't seem to appreciate finer things, if you know what I mean.
I've had so many people from more recent generations think I'm nuts for setting our Christmas table with Christmas china, good silverware, real tableclothes etc. Alot of them say, man I'd use paper plates and order pizza:). But I think as kids get older they remember those times where things were special even if they didn't notice it at the time. And I think the ladies in your mother's group enjoyed that tremendously. You should be proud for doing that for them.
Becky
We were kind of raised with paper plates. One of my fondest memories is when we would go to my uncles house. The table was always set and I knew when we showed up there would be chicken and fried okra. Grace was said and my aunt and uncle would make my sisters and I (5 of us) feel very special.
Still trying to get them loaded to york. I'm about ready to throw the comouter out the window.
I give up. It just quit loading. I'll have to try again later, I got to get ready for work. Whoopdy doo.:(
I really enjoy setting the table real pretty. Several times I have even made place setting cards. I do a bit of caligraphy and put holly and berries in the corner. We have candles. We have very special food that we never have any other time of year.
For birthdays, thanksgiving, Easter etc. if I cook a meal I use the good china etc. I enjoy cooking the big meals, it's the everyday stuff I hate.
Becky
I'll go try to load some on there and see how it works. That or you could call choctawsquaw to come over and show you how. Don't feel bad I could not have done it unless dad showed me, and he had help from malakhi.
Becky
Let me know if you figure it out. I'm doing eveything that it's telling me to.
Well' I got to go. I'll probably be back tomorrow. I don't won't to get on tonight, I would stay on to long.:) You've created a monster.:)
Yeah, Eddie and I have gotten lazy with just the two of us here. Maybe I can get back to a Sunday meal or something.
Speaking of Eddie, he's on his way home so we will be getting out of here soon. I hope I find the kind of trailor I want. I'm sorry I have been such a drag about Okie this week. God didn't give me a worrisome spirit and I need to lighten up. Yall know it, my trainer knows it and I know it:') Oh well, Monday a new day.
Bye, sorry about the pictures, that can be so frustrating.
Hope your evening goes smooth.
Becky
Evening everyone, great pics of your son jumping AAM! It's hard, doing action shots with digitals, because you have to predict the good shot two seconds in advance. Next time I hope someone can take some of you.
I'll prolly not be back till much later, when my brother gets here with another computer. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Are you going to the rodeo? If you are you're probably there already. Looked like there was a bunch of people there when I came by. I wish we had a coggins on Rocky. Oh, well, there'll be plenty of rodeos this year. I'm going to try and make an appointment for the next week or so, and if you want me to I will get Rocky's done too. Let me know, I hate to make you pay for all his stuff.:)
Hi old man.:)
Hey, ya'll. The picture of the cat is my devil cat Fugly. ( My husband named her. ). Bare with me I just figrured out how to post pictures.:)
These are our boys. The tan one is Gus, he's mine and likes to smile. The black and white one is Jeb, he's my husband's and likes to give hugs.:
Here's Fugly again, she thinks she owns the place.:)
YOO HOO, I did it. I know how to post pictures, and I thought that computers were the devil.:)
Great! Gorgeous pooch! Border Collies are one of the several breeds I hope to have one of some day.
Well, I'm going to bed, got to work tomorrow.:( I'll probably be back when I get home. If I'm not completely worn out I'm going to try and ride tomorrow. I'll have to see if I can talk myself into it.:) You know how that is. Well, talk at you later, nite.:)luv ya
Thanks. We got him from Travis's dad. They have one that looks just like our's, just not as big. He's a sweetie.
