Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Does you horses drink from the hose? Mine does.
one of my yearlings does, she would rather drink from it instead of the tank.
Weird. Altho I think that horse tend to be left handed more than right handed. I have a lot of trouble with Dot on the right side. She wouldn't lead good if I was on the right side, and I still have to tie her head around to the right sometimes. It's really frustrating, because she will bow her neck out the wrong way and get stiff and lean into the turn. That's her momma coming out in her, Belle does the same thing going the same way. We're making progress though.
Just find What's going on?
just join anytime you feel like it.
Hi, newbe. Do you have horses too?
just talking to friends about horses and other stuff.
Oh, we're just discussin how difrent ponies take to having a bath.:)
Yes, I have 2, They are quarter horses
When we were at mom's the other day Rusty was drinking out of a hole in mom's hose that was shooting in the air. The funny thing was that he was standing right next to his tank.:)
One of my horses hates baths no matter how hot it is,
the other doesn't mean it that much.
bob told me to tell you that you have 6 years worth of whoopings coming on your bday ?
Mine get sprayed on his feet just about ever day. The dried mud too hard. At first he wanted nothing to do with it. Now he just holds his feet up. I used to couldn't get him to out there so I would wait til he made holes and fill them with water and let him dance around a little til he got the bottoms wet.
maybe they like the way the running feels in thier mouth because sometimes katie will let it just run in hers.
Where are you from and what kind of riding do you do?
I started it by just showing him the water hose not going "to get him" I would spray his mouth just a little and then clean his feet. Now he just drinks from the spray.
Tell Bob that I'm going to sick Travis on him. That means he's got six years os whoopins coming to.:)
I've running barrels again,
I have not run for a wild,
i agree about quarter horses, i don't think i would want anything else, but bob's mustang sure is a good horse too.
How long have you been riding?
