This IS a horrible place. In Home Depot Hollywood, L.A., they had no adapter for the continental European plug system, and I asked if they could tell me if another store in the area had it. Tell you what? The answer was: "Ya know what the yellow pages? Look it up on your own!"

That was the only time I have experienced really bad service in the US! I will never go to Home Depot again (LOL).

We just got a Office supply Depot can't think of the chain but I refuse to go in there. Customer service leaves me snippy and I don't like being snippy.

I don't know why, but in our area the HD standard of service seems much higher. When I've asked for help and the individual didn't know the answer they have helped me to find the right employee to ask.

Where do some of you folks live? I have never had a problem in the Ohio are, in fact the clerks/floor people have always been more than generous with their time.

the one here in New London Ct is great, I've never had a problem with the self checkout. Being retired navy and my wife being active duty we get a 10% discount there. The only self checkouts I had problems with was Wal-Mart in Virginia Beach when we were there, The security sensor for the anti-theft system kept picking up my Officer's .45 in my fanny pack as an "unknown item in bagging area" *L*. the cure for that was starting to wear a Glock 30. No problems since then!

You have to come to Home Depot Hollywood, Florida, where half of their customers are German expats.

Maybe they know where to find the plug adapters :-)

I went to the home depot in glendale. I had four men trying to crawl in my car saying, "lady take me home with you". I was only buying my annual supply of veggies. I dont' need four men to help plant the 12 2" potted plants I brought home.

I won't go to the store many years later, alone. I always bring my husband with me. He however is bored with my annual purchase of 12 plants. I don't have men crawling in my car anymore. Don't know what to think of that.

That's California, not the US. However, Home Despot has terrible service. At Home Depot, they will usually run away from you if you look like you have a question. Lowes, they will gladly provide an answer...usually wrong, and more costly than if they had just ran away.

LOWES by they way, stands for Less Of What Eagle Sold. No doubt, they are leaving an open door for competitors.
