"Good news on the DSL though"

Like I said, I will believe it when I see it. This is without a doubt the most incompetent excuse for a phone company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I am on the verge of a screaming hissy fit. I first called to set up my account 5 weeks ago and they still haven't got it right. My voicemail still doesn't work, my long distance will only work with one area code, the dumb@sses forget to issue the order for the modem while telling me it's on the way, and the worst part is, every time I call to complain, they apologize profusely, put me on hold for 20 minutes, then come back and try and tell me that it's fixed.....and it isn't!

Oh that's normal for up here ..

Once my sister had a 2nd line put in because she was tying up the main phone all the time and mom was getting tic off at her

Well she went through basically what you describe .. when the dude finally came out it took him about 5 hours to put the phone line in .. only to disconnect the main phone line

Getting that hooked back up is a whole other story
