Several school board in Cal are making life miserable for home schoolers here. It seem that state law doesn't specifically authorize home schooling and there is some clause that home schoolers are using in order to homeschool their children. Some of the boards are saying that these families are misinterpreting the clause, and that the only way they can homeschool their children is to have a "certified" teacher teach them. I think - it's been quite awhile since I've read the articles, but the pressure is on.
Yeah, I am aware of that issue going on in California. What it comes down to is that if parents continue pulling their kids out of the failing public schools then they will lose more funding than they're will ing to part with and will eventually implode (which would be a GOOD thing, in my opinion), not to mention the more sinister underlying agenda, probably unconscious for the most part, of indoctrinating the kids into the new socialism. If I'd run into those kinds of issues, I'd have been out of there, no matter what it took. I was determined that nobody was going to tell me how to raise my child and I wasn't going to have the school undermining everything I worked hard to teach at home.
