One of the nice qualities of being an American is not having to suffer others pretences! Well, you better hush your mouth of that, dear. Southerners are Americans too. You won't find any pretentious folks in the south except your ilk who look down on us.
I was born in the State of Washington and married a gal from Mississippi in Mississippi...I lived down there for a while and didn't have any trouble with the natives...If I went into a beer joint and ordered a beer all the talk at the checkers tables would stop and I'd get stared at, but nobody said a thing.....There isn't all that big of an ajustment to be made....The main reason I moved back out West was the job market....Wasn't any manufacturintg in Mississippi to amount to anything at the time.....So I came back out West and resumed building airplanes where I had left off in 1942....I have one daughter born in Miss...She wouldn't care one way or another if she would be considered a Southener....She don't like the hot sticky climate...
