There are a lot of people down here who regard Yankees the same was .38SW regards Cossacks, and for the same reason. The same reason lots of people still don't deal with Germans or Japanese even though they weren't born till after 1945.

Oh, I don't think it is that serious, really. But, there is a profound difference between southerners and yankees. Southerners have a sense of humor. We can make fun of ourselves. Just do a google search for southern comedians or 'you know you are a redneck if...' posts right here on FR. Now, do a google or FR search for 'you know you are a yankee if...'

It is a continuing saga of dam yankees vs southerners even to this day, mostly in jest. One cannot eradicate history. But, I will not have my southern heritage disparaged. If anyone mentions Sherman, I will be on them like white on rice. LOL

And yes, Swervie, you are mean indiscrimately.
