I also have a problem with ZA. It seems to be very intrusive and fussy. I get bounced off half the websites that I visit and it is really peeing me off. You know..all I want is a recipe, and I can't get one. I have tried lowering the "paranoia" level too, to no avail. I am to the point of getting rid of it. What good is it if you can't go anywhere?
It seems to have gotten worse since I got an update a week or so ago. Have they gotten paranoid?

But sometimes ZA doesn't like Wingate's caching function on the networking.
Dunno why your nole died.
He may have eaten something he shouldn't have, or he may have run afoul of some larger animal.
Or, he may have simply bee old and croaked while on the ground surface.

No it's not you .. it the news update .. they are suppose to fix it with a new udpate coming out in July
