Really.. sounds very close to what I saw. It's so calm here today, I suppose it could have been a test flight. Do they do circles tho?

Circles, hover, spin in place, lazily floating downward, or upward, backwards, they can do some fairly odd maneuvers for being an aircraft.
However, they really aren't all that fast.
So they'd appear to float and make slow deliberate progress.
Much as described.
The one I've seen painted as a globe did somewhat of a 'loop' but without turning over, it sorta went upward, then reversed, and then dropped before going forward again, but in a rather smooth motion.
(Kinda like doing a loop, but without turning over..)
The guy 'driving' the thing was pretty much playing with the thing like a kid in a candy store.
Reminded me of "flightof the bumblebee" for some reason when I saw it.
Closer to the ground, it looked more menacing than comical though.
Especially when coming around from behind a tree.
(Dwarfed the tree, but still..)
