In the midst of it all, it is amusing to listen to our local station...KZIM. They stay live and in between the actual bulletins, they take calls from people.
So, some call up to tell us that it is really raining hard and lightning is flashing and their power is out...yada yada yada. And then someone calls to say that a tree is down and blocking such and such highway or a power line is down. Just like here, one gets more information from the man on the street than formal news or bulletins.

The ones I get a kick out of are those who, in the midst of a torrential downpour, suggest that we have a 60% chance of rain. Well, duh! Perhaps if they looked out the window, they could give a bit more accurate report.
