Mo..it might be an East Coast thing.. or New England. When I lived in Calif..the east coasters were the only ones who called their kids, and not just go look for them.. They were the only ones who talked loud, all at once, and laughed loud enough to wake the dead. We are not southern and gentile. ;) Not sure which it is
Growing up .. When ever you wanted the kids home you'd just yell their names out the back door .. and you BEST be in hearing distance, cause if you didn't hear and come home you were in big trouble .. LOL
But when I moved up to where I'm at now .. they don't do that sort of thing .. and of course look at me funny when I do it :0)

Oh I meant to say Genteel.. but I know what you mean Mo..
People have changed. Years ago the neighborhood would hear you call your kids and pass it on. Today, everyone stays separate and alone.
There isn't any neighborhood anymore in most places. What a shame.. and they can get away with so much more now, because they know their parent's friends/neighbors aren't watching them too.
