Just stopped in to post a quickie. It's a beautiful day in Louisville. Dawn's flight arrived safely and on time. The liqior store lots are full and I'm all stocked up on blue thingies. The weather report for Derby Day is not good. Rain is expected....lots of rain, and umbrellas are now not allowed inside (lethal weapons doncha know?) and here's the amusing part...Churchhill Downs has been restructured to put the fancy folks in the infield (that used to be the holding pen for the the rest of us riff raff). Before and after shots of the $2000 dresses and shoes should be entertaining. Still haven't decided if I want to deal with the crowd or lay out the money. You can go to a preview and get the royal treatment for $45 today and maybe tomorrow, but it's still a madhouse all over town. I shudder to think of the traffic just based on what I've seen already. I would love to go dwontown for the Pegasus Parade, or at least I thought I would....until I heard over 200,000 (or was it 400,00 -well, it was a h*ll of a lot anyway) people were expected to be there. Yikes! I will watch it on TV!
Anyway, Dad has the world's slowest connection so I probably won't be around too much....on and off for the next couple of days maybe.
For those of you who might have been following and hadn't heard, countrydummy is home from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. She has suffered some compromise of her ability to speak and write/type but will be having corrective surgery for the problem. (What a horrible thing it would be to lose the ability to FReep!)
Oh, more good news. My entire family hates John Kerry! LOL!

Thanks for the Derby update - enjoy the time with family.
Cheers, but not TOO many blue thingies...

Blue thingies are not appropriate for Derby Day. My, I am wondering how you were brought up. Drink a Mint Julep, for me. LOL I hope you have a great time.
