Similar archetypes...

In what way, would you say? I see some simlarities but also a lot of differences--mostly I guess that the Dark Knight is almost always grimly set on justice/vengeance but Kenshin's dark side is overshadowed by his vow not to kill, sense of humor, affectionateness, etc.

There aren't many basic archetypes in superhero fiction... Batman is a mixture of two, IMHO. "Revenge Fantasy" for motive (he fights crime because his parents were murdered by a mugger) and "Self-made Man" for method (all of his abilities come from his intensive training; he has no superpowers).

I admit though, that I don't know enough about Kenshin to make comparisons. I should have put a "?" at the end of my "Similar archetypes" comment.
