Glad to hear your friend Matt is doing well.
All you guys are in our prayers.
Rats about the mail. Hopefully it will be quiet again soon and these people will realize that better times will ~never~ come from any of the rabble-rousers trying to lead them to destruction.
General Kimmitt giving a press conference now, and he is in a very serious mood!

Here is the length of that dress.
I like the one you posted to choose... but do you mind if I do some pure vanity here? I used to have time to really get into designing my own clothes. This is one of the dresses I designed and I really like it. So, even though it won't work forgive me but I'd like to show it. Yeah, I know vanity is a sin, but I really enjoyed it when I had time to design my stuff. :-)
Length:

It comes to just above my knees as I said and has two rows of loose ruffles falling from the hips.
Bodice has wide slightly gathered straps that fall to the side but not completely off the shoulder.

And the dress itself just falls straight from the bodice to the hip. Very summery.

I didn't take pictures with the jacket but it's a sleeveless short bolero style. Kinda turns the dress into something a little less casual if needed.
Photos would make it look better is I weren't holding the camera at arm's length! :-)
/Vanity

I know how hard it is to do self-portraits!
It is a super cute dress! - Looks like something you should bring wear to the wedding!

LOL... I know, I am very prideful about the stuff I make. I thought you wanted us to be more casual at the wedding. Even though as I told you I really didn't have Hawaiian print tops, I have several Hawaiian print summery dresses that I have made. I am *very* fond of making those! LOL
Vanity won out though and I took another picture with the jacket. Just because I am a horrible show-off.

Well, I'm started now... on this avenue of big-headedness. Here are 3 more of my favorite Hawaiian prints.
This is a nicer dress but one of my favorites I ever came up with.

And this --- is my other favorite! This is my Mexican party dress! It has netting like a slight petticoat under the full gathered skirt so it stands out and really twirls when dancing! But, it's completely off the shoulder and with mid length sleeves. I think it's one of my best designs. :-)

This one is more normal for what I usually do. Kinda a straight little thing, only slightly fitted and VEY cool and comfortable. I actually wear stuff like this just around the house when the weather gets hot and I don't have the A/C on. Cool... loose... cotton...

Do I sound like the announcer at a fashion show? LOL

Well, it's a casual wedding, and those are casual dresses!... you can wear shorts if you want, or you can wear one of those dresses! They're really pretty!

They're really pretty!Thank you! I'm done posting them now. LOL
But perhaps now you can also see why I speak truth when I say the most cluttered part of my house is my sewing area! I seem to have more fabric than one person with my schedule could sew up in a lifetime! And now you know why I was initially saying, I don't have a Hawaiian print top but I will *make* one!!! LOL
I have actually ended up with 3 different tops now though so between those and the dresses I will definitely be "in theme." hahaha

Happy Resurrection Day to you! The best day ever! And I am glad to share it with Hobbit Hole friends!
I am making bean dip today - the whole house smells like garlic and onions right now - because some friends here have invited me to share their family Easter picnic after church tomorrow! It's really nice to be able to share the day with other's who love the Lord! :-)

Well, my bean dip is set to simmer for the next 3 or 4 hours. I think I'm going to pop in a movie. Anybody wants to chat/view or something, let me know!

Good morning/afternoon to y'all!
I need a shower...just been wading thru the muck on the DUmmy side of the barn. Saw some rawther hateful stuff about Dubya and Ronaldus Magnus, was not surprised.
No analogue to the Hobbit Hole, not surprising either (though one imaginative soul thought our ticket this year should be "Bush/Sauron").
Now shower me with clean, happy thoughts :)

Well, you've come to the right place! Bush is THE MAN!!! He's the best thing to hit the presidency or my neighborhood in a long time. He's got smarts, knows how to get good people into the right positions in our nation, has vision to see what needs to be done AND has the cojones to carry it out!!!
Anything else we need to know? You're keepin' some bad company there XGI. Come away from the dark side!
How are things in your neighborhood today?

Fruitcakes Jimmy Buffett, Amy Lee
Fruitcakes in the kitchen
Fruitcakes on the street
Struttin' naked through the cross walk
In the middle of the weekHalf baked cookies in the oven
Half baked people on the bus
There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us
Paradise - Lost and found
Paradise - take a look around
I was out in California
Where I hear they have it all
They got riots, fires and mud slides
They got sushi in the mall
Water bars and Brontosaurs
Chinese modern lust
Shake and bake life with the quake
The secret's in the crust
Chorus
We lost our Martian rocket ship
The high paid spokesman said
Looks like that silly rocket ship
Has lost it's cone-shaped head
We spent ninety jillion dollars
Tryin' to get a look at Mars
I hear universal laughter
Ringing out among the stars
Fruitcakes in the galaxy
Fruitcakes on the Earth
Strut naked towards eternity
We've been that way since birth
Half baked cookies in the oven
Half baked people on the bus
There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us
Religion, religion.
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa
Where's the church, who took the steeple
Religion's in the hands of some crazy ass people
Television preachers with bad hair and dimples
The God's honest truth is it's not that simple
It's the Buddhist in you, it's the pagan in me
It's the Muslim in him, she's Catholic ain't she?
It's that born again look, it's the wasp and the Jew
Tell me what's goin on, I ain't got a clue
Here come the big ones - Relationships -
We all got 'em, we all want 'em. What do we do with'em?
She said you've got to do your fair share
Now cough up half the rent
I treat my body like a temple
You treat yours like a tent
But the right word at the right time
May get me a little hug
That's the difference between lightening
And a harmless lightening bug
ChorusThe future - Captain's log - Star date 2000 and somethin'
We're seven years from the millennium
That's a science fiction fact
Stanley Kubrick and his buddy Hal
Now don't look that abstract
So I'll put on my Bob Marley tape
And practice what I preach
Get Ja lost in the reggae mon
As I walk along the beach
Stay in touch with my insanity
Really is the only way
It's a jungle out there kiddies
Have a very fruitful day

I've been on the Light Side since my first election, '84, thanks. Just like to see what the Dark Side's up to-- lately. Hadn't checked since before Dr. Rice ate Dick's lunch. The usual stuff on that score, "she LIED!" "she called (our Atty Gen) on 9/10 and told him to stay out of AIRPLANES!" Such rubbish.

Well, you know the old sayin's. Can't see the forrest for the trees. Dumber'n dirt. Ain't got the sense God gave a goat. All of 'em apply there. Trouble is, there is no reasoning with most of those people. Even when presented with facts they keep up their socialist drivel. Hate that!
It would be nice to be able to deal with rational people but I'm afraid those people just aren't that. The worst problem is the polarization of the nation. We are so very separated now that it bodes not well for the future. Much prayer from here goes into that.
You just can't reason with fools.

besides that, they want me to watch the week the baby is due! As if!Well, I'd think that would be the perfect time! Just park yourself in front of the tube and watch your favorite shows so they get a good bump in the Neilsen ratings. We'd have a whole week of History Channel, HGTV and Fox News!
