Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I had him "all natural" too! LOL
Not Joshua though. Like running the marathon, I'm glad I did it but never intend to do it again! I had the epidural with Joshua. Steve tried to talk me out of it but I bellowed at him (and I mean bellowed) "I'm 36 years old...I'M OLD and I've had a hard last couple of years....I WANT AN EPIDURAL!"
He didn't bring up the natural child birth again...
I have a real nice picture of us with Joshua too, but I can't find it...

It's a new emotion, sis. It's not like any emotion you've ever felt before, I can tell ya. I brand new feeling.
It kinda stunned me, because I thought I knew it all and had "felt" every emotion possible. Then along comes a completely new feeling and at 32, it really amazed me.
It really brought home what God did for us when he gave his only Son...holding my jedis, I knew quite profoundly what a gift that was.
Now I'm getting all sentimental. But having my jedis really altered my life and my values completely...I wasn't the same afterward.

No, that was later on in the day...I was already up and dressed. The one I'm thinking of was minutes after his birth, like this one...

Oh, my pictures after birth weren't near that nice. Grama loved her Polaroid camera and she was snappin' away! Since Myranda was born at home in the summer, we didn't have airconditioning, I had just gone through childbirth and only my husband, daughters and Grama in the house, I was not appropriately dressed! Then, when I would nurse, I would bet rid of the thin nightgown I was wearing completely and she *had* to take pictures of that! Therefore, my pictures are only for Myranda and I to see.

I may look all right, but I was in a bad way...my esophogus of all things! I pushed so hard that I shot stomach acid up into my esophogus for hours. Blistered my throat so badly that I almost couldn't swallow even my saliva!
When I had Joshua, I told my OB about that and she ordered IV Pepcid for me...no problems at all.

Well, I didn't have any problems like that either time. But, with Myranda I had done that thing that a lot of women seem to do - got a burst of energy and cleaned house, cooked and gardened hard. Then, my water broke at 2:30 AM only 2 hours after I went to sleep! Contractions didn't start until about 4:30 but I was excited and never went back to sleep. She was born at 6! I was tired, hot and sweaty. I needed a nap!!!

I found the other pics! They were out in the shop!
When I was expecting Matthew, I had been a long distance runner and I ran a cross-country 5K when I was 7 months pregnant. So I was in pretty good shape and rebounded pretty quickly.
When I was expecting Joshua, I just sat down and ate baked goods. I went from 103lbs to 140lbs. It's the weight I still am trying to loose.

Prior to having Joshua, and before they gave me the epidural, they gave me a shot of something that just made me feel drunk. I was feeling very goofy in this picture. They tried that and when it didn't work and I was shouting at Steve, that's when they gave me the epidural! I don't look near as rabid as I felt earlier! LOL

I had this thing about not having my hair bound! Weird, but I had very long hair back when both my jedis were born and I would not have it clipped up or anything. Just drove me crazy till I got it undone!
Pretty weird, huh?
I'm the same way when I have a migraine...can't even wear a soft scrunchy in my hair.
