Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I remember seeing the New Universe comics, but I think I only bought one issue. What was "The Pitt" about?

Any wonder that the character played by the woman named Kim is always right???? No..... :-D

You know, Joe Allbaugh (former head of FEMA) probably never called George Bush anything other than "Mr. Governor" or "Mr. President" in all the time he worked for him. Where does this FEMA head get off calling the President by his first name on duty?

What was "The Pitt" about?

Hmm, let's see... the stupidest super-hero ever to possess a Universe's Greatest Weapon (yes, ever stupider than Kyle Rayner) accidently blew up said weapon, leaving a great big hole where Pittsburgh used to be ("The Pitt"). If you're watching the movie, I think you see why I thought of it... ;)

I may have to see that! The only one I recognize there was Dana Andrews, who did some good stuff like Night of the Demon but was also in the movie that Airplane was inspired by, Zero Hour!--he was the original Ted Stryker! I guess Andrews had a knack for appearing in bad disaster movies :)

Sorry about the mixed-up post, ma'am ... too many stupid things in this movie are distracting me!

I didn't know about it either until recently when TCM showed Zero Hour and Airplane back to back once. Airplane is twice as funny if you watch it that way--some of the scenes are practically identical, even with the same dialogue.

I have a good idea: let's visit the epicenter! I have a theory that if we go there we'll all fall into the center of the earth--whee!!!

He's not used to having a sun roof because they never used the one on the General Lee :)

I dunno... did Captain Ultra ever try to transfer the Universe's Greatest Weapon into a dumbbell and accidently destroy Pittsburgh?
