Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep! And if you've ever had springerle, you know that it travels well and only gets better with time (within reason, of course). I imagine the elvish version has more nutrients, but that's their secret.

Yep! And if you've ever had springerle, you know that it travels well and only gets better with time (within reason, of course). But since Elves live thousands of years, their springerle probably keeps even longer! There could be springerle from the First Age still sittin' around buried in Gondolin--albeit kinda soggy since Beleriand sunk :)
I imagine the elvish version has more nutrients, but that's their secret.
Hmm--wonder if the Elves make low-carb springerle? :)

You forgot the vicious Rabbit of Cair ....whatever....and the vicious Chicken of Bristol.

Their courage hangs by a thread! If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end, as to be worthy of remembrance!

Hmm--wonder if the Elves make low-carb springerle? :) It at LEAST has to have a lot of super duper high-quality protein compared to usual springerle, considering it's gotta fuel you for a days' march.
Maybe they use dragon eggs?

Maybe they use dragon eggs?Cool! This is starting to sound like the Middle Earth version of Dr. Seuss' Scrambled Eggs Super :) And maybe they fry it in beezel nut oil extracted from trees in Lorien. . .
