Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We used to have a dog who ate green beans. He also liked spaghetti and tomato sauce.
Sometimes Miss Kitty goes for veggies...but not often. She ate some chick peas once..

Good morning everyone! - Getting a late start here.... slept in, and got ecurbh out the door for his job interview so I could catch up. Wish him luck!
So it seems yesterday I missed the forum going down, a car race and some ruthless elf-bashing, and Corin mooned Jen. Sorry Jen, that I wasn't here to help balance things a bit.
ExGI, I am sorry you got stood up for the phone call. I think it sounds real exciting, and I hope they call again.
I am gonna start a horse-chat thread today that may or may not hold enough interest to keep going... but the several horse people I have run into around FR always ~seem~ to want to talk more about it! We'll see.

Considering she can usually figure out how to get on the table when I'm gone, unless I put all chairs farrrrr away...she could probably work the stove, too. ;-)
Unlike her brother, she's a smart cookie. Unfortunately, she doesn't use her smarts to learn the things *I* want her to know.
*sigh*

We were kinda going over the Oliver Stone version of the history of Elves in Middle Earth.

Yep, she likes green beans, too. She'll beg for those - sit up with her mouth open like a little bird, hoping I'll drop one in. ;-) Also likes cucumber, and just about anything else. Luckily they don't seem to...*ahem*...affect her digestion the way raw veggies in even very, very SMALL quantities affected my Lab and my brother's Golden, or I'd be in trouble.

Heh...Rush just said that John Kerry threw his medals over the fence before he didn't throw them over...

Heh...the throw was retro-active.
To: Corin Stormhands
Isn't he now saying he did again?
I get confused.
So is he, apparently.

He said on Good Morning America today that he threw his "ribbons" not his "medals" because they were at home and he didn't have time to go get them.
But in 1971 he said he threw his medals.
Of course it's all GWB's fault. Bush and the Republicans anyway...

Yes Senator Kerry, I'm sure you only meant to cross-stitch the thread, not quilt it.
Careful where you throw them needles.

It was just a bit of fun! :)
