Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Is Old Man Willow in the extended DVD version? I loved the Tom Bombadil parts in the book--always wish Tolkien had expanded on them.
To: Fedora
Yes - there is an homage to Old Man Willow in the Extended Edition.
You ask this like the Extended Edition is unknown to you!

But I *have* rings of power!!!Aha!--and bracelets of power, too! How'd you get more than one, though?--thought Galadriel only had one? Or are you hiding the ring of power amidst the Silmarils, perhaps? :)
To: HairOfTheDog
You ask this like the Extended Edition is unknown to you!It is, unfortunately! I was one of the unfortunates who bought it when it first came out and got gypped of the extra footage.
To: Fedora
They aren't really rings of power.... we just ~told~ her she disappeared at Entmoot!

To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, one of these days I plan to buy it. Just reluctant after spending the money on the other one.
To: HairOfTheDog; Wneighbor
Goood night, then!
To: Fedora
No, the bracelet has no power. And all the silmarils are gone. *sigh* No longer is there knowledge among us of how to make another.
Rings of power though, those were elven made before Sauron stole the secret. And of those, I have plenty!

Morning all!
Got caught up on my sleep and did a bunch of garden/yard work yesterday. Got really sunburned in the process. Ah well. But the shrubs are leafing out, the tulips are starting to bloom. The planters are filling in- petunias are blooming all over the place. And the marigolds are planted in the permiter blocks of the square-foot garden.
Did some shopping, too. Still have a bunch of laundry, cleaning, and cooking to do. Gotta get ready for another trip to NM.
Oh, and can I ask a really big favor of y'all? I'm going to be away for Big'ol's b-day, which is on the 30th. Could you guys spam him with happy birthday messages, purty purty please? I'd owe y'all many many hugs.
