Thank you kindly, ma'am.

I do get the occasional "you're a doll/lifesaver/wizard." And I learn something new every day. And I get to commiserate with other techs when they call in. I love those calls; they do what I do, just for their company, and I never have to justify the stuff I make 'em do.

Oh, the tech support wars!

Our most notorious customer was a Mr. Han... an Asian guy who could barely speak English

". . .a tournament hosted by a certain Mr. Han. . ."

[Shaking head in disgust] "Han's tournament. . ."

"Yes, yes, I know--but there's a reason we'd like you to attend that particular tournament, Mr. Lee. . ."

You'll get to see the video that goes with that in a few days.

So, if you don't hear it anytime this month, you heard it from me. HUGS to all of you!!!

Aw, shucks!

Thanks! Most of the time, the struggles just add to the "interesting" quotient of this job, but there are occasional times when I could use a lot less interesting. I'm feeling pretty good about work as a whole, though, since I had my review this week and my boss said the feedback he's getting from users who have dealt with me is very positive.

He did also say I shouldn't take it personally when people get upset or when I can't fix things quickly...something I KNOW I do. *sigh* It's rough when you ain't perfect! ;-)

Sometimes it's very hard. But so far I've always managed...if only just.

The one I like best is 'Jajauma ni Sanenaide'. Also 'Omoide ga Ippai'. And from the endings, "Don't Mind Lai-Lai Boy" is oddly catchy.

Did you see the link I posted to an MP3 of the Kenshin opening? You might enjoy that - wet your whistle for Operation Virtual Animoot, as it were.

*sigh*

What gets me are the ones who are upset that I can't just see what their current password is...but then will say "but now you know my password!" if they say it while I'm helping 'em change it.

Um...where's the logic there?

OK, now I'm really going...

I'll check 'em out! Um--I see Russian letters, and last time I tried to download a song from a website with Russian letters I got a bad virus. Is there a way to tell if there's a risk of that, oh Computer Geek Overlordess? :)

The fact that they're at a distance helps.

I dunno how I do it. During my first tour of duty at the Lazy E, I didn't do it very well. I was burnt out, seriously messed up, when I quit in 1999. I'm more detached this time around, and I'm doing better emotionally.

I'm also a little older, and a lot more ... mature-minded, maybe? I don't lose my temper the way I used to.

Well, you can play the files without actually downloading - they all appear to be MP3s to me, and I've got three virus things running here, so I think I'm ok-ish.
