Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, we just found out that Ramius stood up Ally Sheedy which in turn led her to abandon her career and vanish into obscurity.... ...and people think I have no effect on women. Phshaw...

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the Indian sidekick :) And then of course there was Steve Gutenberg, who was always sort of a star you vaguely recognized from other movies but couldn't remember his name--as alluded to in that
Simpsons song about the secret society that controls the world, the Stonecutters:
Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do!
We do!
Who sets up the title fight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do!
We do!
Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star. . .?

Ally SheedyI saw her guest appearance on "The Dead Zone" a year or so back...
To: Wneighbor
Hi!
My job has a week left, and I think I'm glad of that.
To: Wneighbor
Troublemaker isn't he? :-)Mmmm-hmmm. He's probably one of them Stonecutters I was talking about in my other post--it was probably part of a grander troublemaking plan. . .

Goodnight darlin'
Sweet dreams!
I have already left my phone in the far end of the house from my bedroom. All 3 mornings this week when I coulda slept late my phone rang way before it was time to get up! Tomorrow, I can sleep till 8:30. I don't want no bothersome "Good Morning" calls! :-)

Roger that. Seems like two or three times this week I've gotten that wonderful 6:00am call from somebody that had a "really huge problem" until about 6:05 when I called them back and they said "sorry... Nevermind... I guess everything is fine... and oh... by the way... why did it take you so long to fix it???" I s#!t you not. This stuff happens.
I think I'm going to fit all of our company keyboards with a mechanism to send a good solid 220 volt shock out to anybody that ticks me off.
Personally, I think it's a miracle that none of my staff has actually killed a user by strangling them with their own stinkin mouse cable. The defense would be pretty easy to show. Some users just need killin'.
