Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, still bad storms, but nothing to worry about, I don't think. The main concern was earlier, then things kinda stablized and now they're just thunderstorms. Nice...I like nice rumbly storms.
Steve called after he got out of class this evening and said that they made them leave class and go into a designated storm shelter area!

I like storms too! That's one of the
many things I miss about living in the country.
I wish my old house was still in good enough shape that ya'll could go down there with me sometime. You would have loved it before it started falling down!

I was getting ready for the storms to hit earlier and thought to myself "Ok...all I need to do now is get the clothes off the line and put the chickens in the coop." Then it just hit me...I'm in the wrong place and the wrong time! LOL I can see my Oklahoma ancestors doing the same thing 75 years ago.
I gotta go...Steve will be home soon and I need to saute that spinach.
Night all!

One thing I really loved about being stationed in San Angelo was watching the storms roll in. It is so flat out there that you can see for miles. I lived on the second deck, and would sit out on the balcony in a lawnchair, just watching em come in. Inevitably, class would be canxd because of the storms, too.

That was how it was back home. I could see the storms coming from miles away to the north or northwest! Myranda and I would sit and watch them coming for hours! It was beautiful. :-)
