You shouldn't try living in the Houston area since roaches bug you. Down there, the roaches are seriesly hugh. We call em water bugs cuz they don't come inside unless it has been raining (which happens alot in Houston).

Bites by yellow sac spiders generally produce instant, intense stinging pain, not unlike that of the sting of a wasp or hornet. This may be followed by localized redness, swelling and itching; these manifestations may or may not evolve into a necrotic lesion, but when that occurs healing is usually complete within eight weeks.

Your quick thinking might have done the trick! According to the article, it looks like the bites can get pretty bad, but not as bad as those of the brown recluse. Glad it wasn't one o' them.

Just got back from WalMart buying more troop stuff. Then I made a batch of chocolate oatmeal cookies for Marines in Afghanistan and Winmags guys in the unknown place. Now, I gotta box up and take to the post office. Busy busy busy for my mornin' off!

But, the coolest thing - I know you'll appreciate - when I was in WalMart I ran into one of those ladies that works at the post office I use. She was SO SWEET! She went on and on thanking me for sending the packages and was with me on the chip aisle while I was picking out more stuff! We had a good ol' visit! :-)

Nope, it bit me...I have TWO mosquito-like bites on my leg. My rational mind tells me to just rub some hydrocortisone on it...

There's stuff called "Afterbite" for insect bites. It's a semi-solid ammonia compound. Rub it on the bite, and it attacks the toxin.
