Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

elf-boy overdid it on his wrist today and was complaining that it hurt. I made him take a dose of his Tylenol3. I had to threaten him with the worst spankin he has ever had to get him to take it. (he is prolly one of the best behaved children I have seen, even though he *definitely* has his moments. I count to three, if I make it to three, he gets a swat on the hiney... he never makes it to three. he is usually back in-line by two, and sometimes by one.)

heheh, it was past his bedtime anyway, this will help him sleep. It sure did put him in a silly mood, though.

Pleez don't tell me tomorrow is monday.

Well, if they're not that close together, it's always possible someone might be willing to trade seats, depending on where they're located. And if not, it's really not that big of an area, so we'll still be able to find each other pretty easily.

This will be so fun, and the program looks terrific!

By the way, I was out riding in your neighborhood last week! I wanted to stop by, but I was on my bike and I was so late getting back to my parents' house that I didn't have time. Oh well, maybe next time. I keep wanting to do that, stop by on my bike, but it seems like I never allow enough extra time for the ride so that I can do that.

Hehe, well I didn't get that close to your place. If I had, I would definitely have stopped in! I have a route back out to my parents' house on Delphi Road that goes out 113th, up Littlerock and then down 110th to connect up with Delphi. I didn't have time to make it back to 93rd or 92nd or whatever it is. Sometimes, I'll take Littlerock all the way back to Trosper and go out to Delphi that way, but this time I was already an hour later than I'd planned so it just wasn't an option. :(

I was taking the Chehalis Western Trail, which was a blast, but I found that it's a bit tricky to figure out what streets will connect the Trail with Littlerock Road! I had to buy a map in Rainier to figure out how I could get back over that way, lol.

Anyway, I'll be biking a lot from here on out, so I'm sure I'll get a chance to ride by your place one of these days. I'm training for the STP (in one day) and the RAMROD ("Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day") so I will be riding the wheels off that poor bicycle!

I'll be in Texas for about an hour on June 17th when I stop over on the way to Seattle! *smile*

I can't wait!!! I made my arrangements for a ride to the airport today. Called my baby brother's wife and she is going to take me so I can leave my truck at their house. They live about 1/2 hour north of the airport! :-)

It made me antsy yesterday thinking - IT'S ONLY 2 MONTHS!!!

I have a little keychain knife for opening boxes and stuff. The other knife I carry is not intended to ever have "fond" memories attached to it. I didn't have fond memories of my Army M-16, either.

Well. I guess the fond memories don't really come from the knife. I have never actually even "used" it. But, it's always there - in my boot - on long trips on the bike. Sort of a comfort thing. And I'm sappy about bike trips. Not to mention, that sometimes I get interesting looks or amusement from people if I happen to take off the boots and they see the knife. It's just funny to see people surprised to see it! Sometimes those looks and comments are priceless! LOL
