Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You weren't "Gone with the Wind?"
To: Overtaxed
LOL, nope, but it were 'a tad breezy' a couple a times. Still, a bit more sun would have been appreciated.

I need a li'l help.
I just changed my screen name from GretchenEE to GretchenM but I can't figure out how to get myself subscribed to the Hobbit Hole topic (or whatever it's officially called). Can someone help me?

Try starting out in "General" or "Chat" and click on "Topics" under the "My Mail, My Comments, Screename" line (upper right corner). Scroll down the page until you get to "Hobbit Hole". I think it's under "Dailies". Click on "Hobbit Hole" and it should have something to click on to subscribe/unsubscribe.

Ecurbh and I just bought THREE tickets for this showing for the two of us, and Ramius, to go see this. The Thursday show is the only one with many tickets left. Ooh...that could be a lot of fun! Especially since now we've heard the music and seen the movies so many times that we can visualize what's happening when the music is doing *that*.

You are a very big help. I was in the wrong initial topic so the Hobbit Hole and other interesting topics weren't showing up.
I am now subscribed. Thank you!

Hooray!

Yep. No symphony for me! Closest would be Phoenix and after this weekend, as much as I love AZ, it has been decisively reinforced that I must stay away from Phoenix!

It's lovely! I would have loved having a room like that when I was little! I'm sure she'll appreciate the bright colors almost right away, even if she doesn't know what they are. ;-)

notice, there isn't any PINK... (I don't really like pink enough to paint a room that color.)

Boo hoo hoo! Poor little baby couldn't work on his car during a red flag.
To: Overtaxed
I was gettin' real ticked when they were talking about that perhaps he should be given back some track position since this wasn't his fault!!!! For cryin' out loud - how many crashed cars aren't the fault of the crashee? They don't get no quarter!!!
That was the most bogus thing I ever heard!

Those announcers sure have gone downhill. I liked it better when TNN did the races.
To: Overtaxed
I liked watching when they were on TNN. But, I didn't get TNN so I had to go to my aunt and uncle's house to watch. Sometimes that wasn't possible so I didn't get to see as much racing in those years.
I gotta agree though, we could improve greatly on the announcing. To me, it seems like they're pandering to newbies who don't know jack about what's going on. Which I guess is good for them. But, I sure don't get as much out of it.

Yeah....it's gone downhill since they started pandering to newbies. If the newbies aren't interested enough to learn about the sport they should stick to watching golf or something.
