Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

which version was it that had a storybook with a record album? (I have it somewhere at my mother's house, if she didn't get rid of all my old records.)I have that one, too :) It was the Rankin-Bass version. Disneyland Records did a pair of book-and-record sets to go with it--one was for one of those big records, one was for a smaller record. I used to have both, but at the moment I only know for sure I have the big one--I think I may have lost the small one :(

Oh, DW's there talkin' on and on about what a hard day's work 500 laps is at Martinsville. I think they need to shut up and let a lady elf show 'em how work gets done! Gimme a car! I'll show 'em! :-D

That's why I always liked Harry Gant. You never heard him whine about how much work it was.
To: Overtaxed
If it was really *that* kind of detestable work howcome DW was out truck racing yesterday? hmmmmm.... He could prolly make ends meet without that.

Ecurbh and I just bought THREE tickets for this showing for the two of us, and Ramius, to go see this. The Thursday show is the only one with many tickets left.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: A Symphony in Six Movements
Howard Shore, composer and conductor
Members of the Seattle Symphony Chorale
Seattle Symphony
Howard Shore's Academy Award-winning scores from the Lord of the Rings trilogy come to life in a grand six-movement journey that takes us from the tranquility of the Shire, to the horrors of Mordor and explosive Mount Doom. Includes music from all three films.
Seattle Symphony | Your Order
Penny and Scott, if you guys want to go, our seats are on the third tier, and if you bought them right away, would probably be near to us.

Okay, folks. I'm back, and decided the auction will end at 9PM EDT, tonight. I'll announce the winners shortly after that. (After I get settled in at work, and can freep a bit).
The bids remain, $30 on 1,2,4,5, and 6.

Well, ecurbh, unless the Sydney concert is in Sydney Nebraska, looks like us in 'flyover country' are out of luck.
Seriesly, it sounds like a wonderful concert, glad you, Hair & Ramius can attend. Perhaps a few of the 'east coasters' will be able to attend.
Otherwise a bit more gardening was done, dog was walked, and flylady was once again beat back into her cocoon.
