Hey everyone!! Long time, no post! *grinning*
I had an awesome time in KC with LSA, OBM and OT. I can't thank them enough for taking time out of their day to pick me up and show me around and feed me those delicious ribs!!! Heavenly stuff!! My only wish is that I was able to stay longer and hang out a few more times.
I'd definitely like to moot in Missouri again, maybe Entmoot II? It's gorgeous there and the folks are so nice!
I've got tons to do around the house today and still have to check in with other friends and family to let them know I made it back in one piece, so I'll try to hang out here tonight and do my best to catch up on everything I've missed.
Love you all MUCH!!!
Ruthy

Hi Ruthie! Glad you had a nice time. Missouri's kind of central, right... equally far for left and east coasters...

Hi Jen!!
Yes, it's pretty much smack dab in the middle. But be careful, you can end up in Kansas without even knowing it!! LOL!!

I have driven across parts of the midwest - higher up, not through Kansas - and I agree, it's hard to tell where one state ends and the next starts!

Car....check!
Potting soil....check!
Cat grass....check!
Cat food....check!
People food (complete with garlic)....check!
Now for some flylady stuff. Highest priority? The cat pan!

I'm hiding from spring cleaning. Well, I helped out downstairs, now I'm sort of cleaning my room, sort of doing homework, sort of reading, and definitely enjoying the breeze coming in the window.

I've got the windows open and some tunes playing until the stoopid Cubs game starts.
BTW, OB. When do folks put up hummingbird feeders 'round these parts?
To: Overtaxed
This is such a lovely day. Seems a shame to waste it cleaning, but there you go.

Hmmmm......as soon as this tub of Scoop Away is used up, I'll have a compost pail. Kewl!

Are you growing a garden? Why do you need compost?

I'm planning on growing some stuff in pots.
Why do you need compost?
I just hate to throw out all that good compost material.
To: Overtaxed
So compost it real good and ship it off to select politicians.

Good Afternoon; morning was spent quite pleasantly, LSA was dividing and replanting daylilies, I did the same with the JoePye. Been drilling holes in a stump, batteries recharging as are we. :-) The Sonic burger with Jalapenos and a diet Cherrylimeaide hit the spot. The wicker porch swing will be up soon.
RE hummingbird feeder, well, it's about 15-20 degrees above normal right now, so it's unusually warm. Generally the feeders will go up later in the summer, but we've never had much luck with them.
The morning walk was really nice, Gypsy is really getting into them. She is also an excellent supervisor on gardening activities.
Won't be too much longer and the rest of the plants can be outdoors on front porch. The iris are really coming along, and the celdane (sp?) poppies are in full bloom.
Well, BBL.

I'm not giving those jerks my black gold! I like my compost. *Sniff* I didn't even have the heart to tear down the compost bin at my house last week.

Just thought I'd ask. I usually put them out when the azaleas are in bloom which would be now in NC. So far I haven't seen any azaleas blooming around here yet.

You like hummingbirds? We had a feeder once but the squirrels kept leaping onto it and knocking it over.

Those dang sorry -a** squirrels chewed a hole in my last feeder.

Squirrels are evil... but this summer we'll be facing something worse. 17 year cicadas are back this year.

I hates them ornery no-account buck-toothed varmint critters!
To: Overtaxed
On the other hand, squirrels would make good shooting practice, right?
