Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We forgot to tell about the hummingbird that got in the house yesterday! When ecurbh first saw it bangin' into the windows he said he thought it was an enormous bug.
The little thing wouldn't be herded towards the open door... kept at the windows till it was exhausted. I was able to catch him in my hand and take him outside.... Man.... they are really tiny!

"When ecurbh first saw it bangin' into the windows he said he thought it was an enormous bug." Lucky he didn't get out the fly swatter. Glad that you rescued it, though. I really like hummingbirds, as I guess most of us do.
We have a couple species at least of them here. The green and red ones come in November, I suppose they are migrating south. There is also a really tiny one, not much bigger than a wasp, you have to look twice to realize they are actually birds when you see them.

I was out prepping Bay, he had gone back in to get his saddle. Gidget never saw it, we put her back in a bedroom... and the cat slept through it...
I have a feeder out for hummingbirds... I thought it was too early, I hadn't seen any yet.

Hmm I will have to remember how to fix that one just in case. I use to have anti-virus software on my machine but it hosed the computer up so bad I wished I had a virus instead. So now I don't bother. At least my router protects me from some stuff. I only worry about my XP box though since no one seems to write viri for OSX.

Praying for your continued safety and success today smaagee! Hope things are still quiet where you are.
Hard to keep up with all the news today. Busy and dangerous in places over there. Report in when you can!

OK, you asked for it :)
Anybody else notice:
--during the first shot of Edoras in RotK, the smoke is being sucked down the chimneys and the flags are flying oddly? (A pull-back heli-shot reversed in post to provide a push-in shot)?
--Andy Serkis as a curly-headed Hobbiton hobbit during the Green Dragon scene, bringing in his prize pumpkin just before Sam proposes to Rosie?
--anything else (please specify)?
No matter how cool, classic, great, or oscar-worthy a movie is, there will always be some little glitch for sharp eyes to see. It's fun, and (to me at least) doesn't detract from the piece as a whole.

How often do the mods like you to start a new thread? I heard they have a hard time cleaning things up after a while.
Anywho...thank you for the new thread!
To: Bella_Bru
I heard they have a hard time cleaning things up after a while. That is what they said. They hardly ever need to moderate this thread (last five minutes notwithstanding!) but when they do have to get in big threads it bogs down the whole forum. They asked us to start new threads at around 5,000. Other more moderator-intensive threads may have to start sooner.

ecurbh and I think the guy with the pumpkin looks like 'Deagol'... not Smeagol/Serkis...
I hadn't noticed the smoke going backwards, will look for that on next view, that is pretty funny!

No, I don't mean Serkis the Normal Hobbit is a glitch. It's a pleasant, easily-overlooked surprise.
