It's great that the jobs are coming back, but the oil companies have swooped in and taken the tax cut away from most of us. All the government has done to give us some spending money has gone right into the pockets of big oil.

It's always something to gripe about when good news happens.

Oh, come on!!!
If you drive 1500 miles a month and get 20 MPG, the increased price total for gas is less than $20.00/ month from $1.50/ gal. This, of course, assumes you are not in California.
Complain about the cost of bottled water, $3.75 gal. or milk, $2.50, or soda pop, $3.00 gal.

... but the oil companies have swooped in and taken the tax cut away from most of us. All the government has done to give us some spending money has gone right into the pockets of big oil. Perhaps, ....
Did you know that the oil fields that sit off the coast of CA and in the Gulf of Mexico are "Sweet Crude" and that the estimated amount of these two fields is greater than all the fields in Saudi Arabia when they were first drilled?
Can we drill them and get the oil? No! The WATERMELLONS (envirowackos) helped by the ACLU and other RDDBs won't let us.
There may be some help coming though as the Gov. of Alaska plans to let the oil companies angle drill from the shore into ANWR to get at that oil.
Since we are on the subject we're using fossil fuel for electricity when we could be using Atomic but since Jane Fona's movie China Syndrome and the 3-Mile accident no new Atomic power plant has been built or come on line that's over 25 years. If fact the WATERMELLONS have succeeded in shut plants down.
Are you beginning to get a more focused image of just who the real enemy is that's stealing from your wallet?
Oh, and I almost forgot to ask just which political party is so cozy with the WATERMELLONS and likes the ACLU/RDDBs? You guessed it the DUs.

Lol!
That's right! The government has stopped forcibly taking money from us and now we can choose to spend it on gas for our cars if we want to and all liberals can do is complain that someone other than the government is getting our money!
That's what our money if for, you idiot, to spend as we see fit! Not to hand over to some government drone to spend as he sees fit.
"Big Oil" as you use the derisive term for it, employs people and provides a service. A horrible thing, providing jobs and a service, but that's what capitalism is all about.
What about "Big Oil" in Europe where gas is 3 to 4 times as expensive? Why not complain about "Big Oil" over there? I know why. Because socialism has already won over there, so there is no need for you to lie and obsfucate about what is going on in Europe. 60%+ taxes and $7 a gallon gas is what you really want here as well, so you complain about "Big Oil" and tax cuts trying to get people to think that Europe is much better.
Sorry, might have a shot on the CNN boards, but not here at Freerepublic.

I doubt that it's all going into the pockets of Big Oil, I'll bet Big Abortion, Big Movie, Big Pro-Sports, Big Drug War, etc have taken their BIG SHARE too.

I don't think so! The REAL tax cuts will come when people begin filing their income taxes and find out they will be receiving HUGE refunds.
While I was expecting about 1500, I ended up getting 2400. I am almost debt free because of this. I got to pay off my car 4 months early.
This surprised increase in refunds is going to cause people to go out and buy those big ticket items - which in turn generates more work, which in turn causes companies to hire more people to produce those products ordered.
