I have an EASTERN TOWHEE that spends all day looking at himself in the glass of my patio door. He flies at the door, walks along the threshold---pecking at his reflection, etc. He doesn't stop to join the other birds feeding on breadcrumbs...just keeps banging at the glass.

He's been showing up at the same door for 4 years. He shows up in April and stays about 2 months. Then he's gone---or at least he leaves his reflection alone.

The Towhee has some similar features to the robin. Does your bird look like this by any chance?

No, my psycho kamikaze bird definitely is a robin. He does look a little like Ralph Nader, however - a little scrawny and wild-eyed.

I have no doubt H. Munster Kerry already has his attack dogs in place for that short time he'll be indisposed. It's so funny that he calls any of the Bush ads "negative." Speaking of liars and nuts:

NO prize for guessing who Al Franken's first guest will be when the new liberal radio network, Air America, takes flight today. He took no chances and booked heavyweight blowhard and Ralph Nader-booster Michael Moore. And if that's not comfort zone enough for the lefty loudmouth on his first day, two of Moore's former TV producing colleagues, husband and wife team Patrick Farrelly and Kate O'Callaghan, are shooting a fly-on-the-wall documentary about the network's launch.
