Say This About Redbuds
Say this about redbuds when they bloom,
They are a challenge to winter's gloom.
They are beauty, the dawn and spring,
They are music that sky-larks sing.
They are tapers which light the dark,
To the lost a gleam, to the clod a spark.
They are the light from sun and star
Showing us where the heavens are.
Redbuds are ecstasy past all art,
They are gladness which lifts the heart.
