THE Sen. John Kerry team seems more than a mite embarrassed the presidential wannabe cursed out a Secret Service agent as "that son of a bitch" after colliding with him while snowboarding last week. Asked if that's appropriate language, Kerry's spokesman, Michael Meehan, tried to wriggle out of answering on Fox News Channel's "Hannity and Colmes." Quoth Meehan: "I don't know. I wasn't there . . . it's a hypothetical I'm not interested in . . . I wasn't there. Were you?" Nope, but the report of Kerry's trash talk came from the ABC News field producer who was there and appeared in the New York Times (though with the expletive deleted). [PageSix]

I heard this on another radio program yesterday and couldn't believe it. "I wasn't there, were you?" What kind of answer is that? I wasn't at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, either, Mr. Meehan - does that mean it's only hypothetical that something happened?

"I wasn't there, were you?"

"That's none of your business."

Imus this morning is hedging big time on his endorsement of Kerry....but, of course, that's after the polls have turned and show Bush in the lead.

Do you realize there hasn't been a Bill Clinton sighting for quite a while? I wonder where in the world he might be - in the garage writing his book? Consoling Belinda Stronach over her failed effort to lead Canada's conservative party?

Oh yeah, he said that several times. He was a smart alec. He also was dressed like a moron - the casual Clinton years came to my mind. The pubbie was in suit and tie. It was too funny.
