I can imagine every dorky Dem in that photo is gritting his teeth and thinking to himself how much he can't stand the guy at his left or right. Unity, my Aunt Fanny!
I've just spent a really fun hour watching the video links to Rush's appearance at the Media Research Center's awards banquet last week. I know Rush talked about it, but I was in and out and didn't get the full flavor of it from him. If you didn't either, take time to watch the links below...it's a hoot!
First, Rush wasn't listed on the dinner's program. Like Bush dropping into Baghdad, he only appeared when the audience thought the show was almost over. A producer interrupted Brent Bozell to say there was a VIP backstage and suddenly Rush's theme song was piped in...and the crowd went wild! Rush's remarks were nothing you haven't heard on his show, but the moment he walks out is really worth watching...especially for those like me who've been a little down in the mouth over the media's scoring against Bush this week.

The winner is Charles Pierce, Boston Globe, for this opening sentence to an article last fall: “If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age.”
