I don't have a clue why chocolate would make a difference, unless it's some kind of endorphin thing.
What does exercise do to the headache? Endorphins from exercise, if you can exercise, could reduce an annoying headache temporarily.
Something else you may not have considered, an imbalance in your vision system. A test for this would be to wear an eye patch for a time to see if using only one eye reduces an internal strain, switch to the other eye to double check.
Even with all that, I still recommend the vitamins and herbs. Doctors don't mess with those things because they don't want you to be healthy -- they want to charge you for making you feel better. (Follow the Money!)

Oddly, if I exercise, the headache will be milder for a bit but then redoubles.
Vision imbalance would be pretty hard to find since I'm near-sighted and vision in both eyes is/are fairly close in prescription.
Without glasses my world of clear vision massively reduces to a sphere that ends 7 inches or so in front of my nose.
(Beyond that distance, the world is a fuzzy blur.)
Not sure what to make of it at all.
Will be checking things out, thanks!
